Open air theatre proposed at Hundar Leh: Priya

JAMMU, Jan 10: Minister of State for Tourism, Priya Sethi informed the Lower House that the Government has proposed to develop an open air theatre at Hundar, Leh.
She said that Leh Development Authority has prepared the DPR at an amount of Rs. 2.30 crore, which envisages development of open theatre and parking yard.
She said that the project will be examined after ascertaining the feasibility/viability from tourism point of view and guidelines governing the scheme and programme.
The Minister was replying to a question raised by Deldan Namgail.
Replying to suplimentary questions, she said Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has sanctioned different projects across the State under Swadesh Darshan Scheme with the aim to develop tourist related infrastructure.
She informed that for “Integrated Development of Tourist Facilities on Bandipora-Baramulla-Leh Circuit” under Swadesh Darshan, four   projects have been sanctioned for execution which include development of tourist facilities at Nubra-Turtuk at an estimated cost of Rs.9.58 crore, development of tourist facilities on Leh Nubra Road-Hundar at an estimated cost of Rs 3.42 crore,  wayside amenities at Khardung village, Nubra at an estimated cost of Rs 1.68 crore  and way side amenities at Skuru village, Nubra at an estimated cost of Rs 1.58 crore.
She said that the projects have been entrusted to National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for execution.
