JAMMU, Jan 11: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor defeated Abhishek Cricket Club by 16 runs and sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing 1st Road Safety T20 Cricket Championship, being jointly organized by Road Safety Department and District Police Jammu under the patronage of Sunil Sharma, Minister of State for Transport and Sports.
SSP RK Bhat and Rajesh Gill are the coordinators of the event.
Batting first, Singh Cricket Club scored a good total of 193 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Sumit scored brilliant 62 runs, while Shafkat Baba and Chandan contributed 41 and 31 runs respectively. From bowling side, Bhanu and Amnpreet took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Abhishek Cricket Club scored 177 runs for loss of 8 wickets thus lost the match by 16 runs. Lakhan was the top scorer with 66 runs, while Akhil and Sunny contributed 32 and 23 runs respectively.
For Singh Club, Shafkat Baba took 2 wickets, while Sonu, Sunil and Shan claimed 1 wicket each. Shafkat Baba was adjudged as the man of the match.
Singh Cricket Club will take on Vishal Cricket Club in the first semifinal tomorrow.
