Srinagar, Jan 14: Army today organized a Veterans Day for a number of Ex-Servicemen residing in the valley at Badami Bagh Cantonment here.
An Army spokesman said that during the event various facilities like free medical and dental checkup, ZSWO, DPDO and canteen were provided for the veterans.
“An interaction with the veterans was also carried out wherein they were complimented and thanked for their service to the nation,” he said
He further added that this year onwards January 14 would be celebrated as ‘Veterans Day’ to honor the service and the sacrifice by the veterans in the line of duty as well as to provide a platform for the Ex Servicemen to interact with various Government Departments and resolve the problems they face after retirement.
