JAMMU, Jan 17: Two persons were killed today in two separate road accidents in Kanachak and RS Pura area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a motorcyclist identified as Prabhu Dayal Sharma son of Thoru Ram, resident of Doomi (Malpur), received serious injuries this evening when an unknown vehicle hit his two-wheeler near Sua No 1.
He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting post mortem tomorrow. Kanachak police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
Meanwhile, a road mishap also occurred in Deewangar area of RS Pura today at about 7 PM, where a tractor trolley hit a bike and grievously injured its rider, who was identified as Milan Kumar (30) son of Saudagar Ram, resident of Deewangar (Chakroi, RS Pura). The injured man was immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital, RS Pura, but in view of his serious condition, the doctors there referred him to GMCH Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem to be conducted tomorrow. In this connection, RS Pura police had registered a case and started investigations.
