SRINAGAR, Jan 17: A mysterious fire broke out last night in Khurhama area of Lolab in which at least 12 shops were completely raised to the ground and a house partially damaged.

After noticing the flames, people rushed out of their homes and informed the local police about the incident. Police party belonging to Kuligam police post rushed to the spot and helped the fire tenders and Army to bring fire under control.
“The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained and investigation is going on,”Police said.
Naib Tehsildar, Khurhama, Aijaz Ahmad Khan said that 12 shops located in the double storied building suffered extensive damage. “The fire erupted in one of the shops around 11:45pm in main market Khurhama and engulfed the adjacent shops,” he said.
