2 students of AGS to represent Team India in Russia

SRINAGAR, Jan 18:  Two students of Army Goodwill School Hanzik were selected today to represent India in Moscow Wushu Stars 2018 championship at Moscow, Russia.
The championship will be held from February 16 to 21, 2018.
An Army spokesman said the two students namely Aabid Hamid and Hashim Ashraf have consistently performed in Martial Arts competitions at School, District, State and National level competitions. Acknowledging their specific achievements in Wushu and based on performance in 63rd National School Games held in Jammu last year, both the students have been selected to represent India in Moscow Wushu Stars 2018 Championship at Moscow, Russia.
“It is indeed a milestone achievement for a School to have two of its students getting selected to represent India at International level,” he said
“Students of Army Goodwill School Hanzik, have performed consistently in Martial Arts (Wushu and Kickboxing) and have brought laurels to the School by winning one Gold medal, two Silver medals and one bronze medal at the National School Games in Wushu and Kickboxing during the year 2017.  A total of 13 students had represented the J&K State School Teams at various National Games in Wushu and Kickboxing in year 2017,” he added.
He further added that their performance will serve as a motivation for other students to emulate and help bring more glory and success for the School. The School staff and the management have been in the forefront in identifying young talent and providing the deserving students with such opportunities wherein they can channelize their energy towards a competitive and healthy future, and be a part of mainstream society.
