Educational institutions celebrate ‘Basant Panchmi’ with fervour

JAMMU, Jan 22: Various educational institutions celebrated ‘Basant Panchmi’ with zeal and zest, here today.
JK Montessorie British School and its affiliate unit JK Little Millennium school celebrated Basant Panchmi with religious fervour in the school premises today. Saraswati puja was performed to seek the blessings of Goddess followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’. Director Academics, Rajni Gupta threw light on the importance of the day.
Basant Panchmi was celebrated at Stephens International Public School Miran Sahib with zeal and zest. This festival marks the end of winter season and welcomes the arrival of spring season.
Dewan Devi Playway Higher Secondary School, Rajpura today celebrated the Hindu festival of Basant Panchmi in the premises of the school. The Principal of the school Saloni Anand addressed the students on this occasion, advising them to pay attention to their studies and worship Goddess Saraswati.
Tiny todlers of Kids Kastle Preschool, Nanak Nagar Jammu celebrated Basant Panchami with traditional fervour. The program started with Saraswati Vandana. Principal of the school, Pallvi Gupta highlighted the importance of the day. In the end sweets were distributed.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Basant Panchmi in the ambience of school. On the occasion, a kite flying competition by students and teachers was inaugurated by the Principal, Shuchita Gupta and Administrator Govind Ram Sharma.
To pay tribute to Goddess Saraswati and to welcome the advent of spring season, the pre-primary block of JP World School celebrated Basant Panchmi today in school premises. The block was decorated with yellow items to mark the occasion. Attired in yellow dresses, the students and teachers performed various activities like kite making, poem recitation and dances. The junior wing coordinator Ranju Jasrotia made the students aware about the historical background of the festival and their rich culture and tradition.
Basant Panchmi was celebrated with fervour and gaiety at BSF School Paloura, here today. A special morning assembly was held. Principal Dr S K Shukla along with the staff and students of the school paid obeisance to Goddess Saraswati on this auspicious day.
The celebration began with devotional song sung to invoke the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
Government Girls High School Gandhi Nagar celebrated Basant Panchami with pomp and show today. Director School Education, S Ravinder Singh graced the occasion with his presence.
Jarad biradari organized annual Bhandara on the occasion of Basant Panchami at Village Odh of Ghagwal today. Prashar biradari and other people of the area also participated in the function. Pandit Rajkumar and Pandit Ramesh Chander spoke on the importance of the day.
Aroma Foundation Public School, Lower Roopnagar celebrated ‘Basant Panchmi’ with great enthusiasm. Special prayers were held to get blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Sweets were distributed among the students. Principal Kamal Sharma threw light on the importance of the day.
