CB books land grabber, officials of Forest Deptt

JAMMU, Jan 23: Crime Branch Jammu has registered a case against an alleged  land grabber and officials of the Forest Department.
They are Bashir Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed  of Bathindi, Tariq Ahmed, son of Gulam Mohd of Gund  Adalkote (BanihaI) posted in RDD Ramban and the  then /officials of Forest Department
According to the Crime Branch, one Zoyad Ahmad Wani, son of Aziz Joo of Banihal lodged a complaint mentioning that Javaid Ahmed Katoch and Tariq Ahmed induced him to purchase a piece of land measuring 15 marlas at Green Hill Colony Sunjwan for which the complainant in good faith paid Rs 20 lakh as the cost of land but they have failed to provide relevant documents of the land despite repeated requests.
The complainant later came to know that Javaid Ahmed and Tariq Ahmed were known land grabbers of the area and have encroached upon Forest and State land of the area and selling the same to the people by charging lakhs of rupees.
On the receipt of this complaint, a Preliminary Verification was initiated and it came to fore that suspects with criminal intention and in lieu of criminal conspiracy prepared false/fake agreement to sell in respect of land situated at Bathindi showing fake Khasra No. 366 which was already under the possession of Army instead of Khasra No. 249 which they have illegally encroached in furtherance of criminal conspiracy with the officers/officials of Forest Department.
“The omissions and commissions, thereof, on the part of  Bashir Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed  of Bathindi, Tariq Ahmed, son of Gulam Mohd of BanihaI posted in RDD Ramban and the then officials of Forest Department constitute offences punishable under Sections 420,467/468/471/169/ 120-B RPC r/w Sec 512} PC Act Svt 2006 and 6 Forest Act”, the Crime Branch said.
