JAMMU, Feb 4: Natrang Jammu today presented an out of the box play “Yahin Kahin Bahut Dur” written by Mohan Maharishi and directed by Rahul Singh in its Sunday theatre series. The play was witnessed by large number of audience.
One of the major themes in the play is that it explores human relationships and how they are interconnected and what provokes them. It is about spaces like atoms in space that interact, come close, collide and then drift away. The play leaves us with an existentialist question that human life is easy but we make it complicated ourselves. The play revolved around the story of Simran who is in her twenties, a young girl aspiring to be a writer who falls in love with a woman, Vaijayanti who is 15 years elder to her. Simran is in the age where a lot of youngsters get into unstable notions. She is confused about her writing career and also about her feelings over relationships. Ishwar, a young man who is a teacher and her best friend loves her but Simran doesn’t bother about it. Vaijayanti offers Simran a job with her; Simran joins as her secretary. Simran falls in love with her at first sight, she clears her doubts with Ishwar. He suggests her that what she is feeling about Vaijayanti in one meeting isn’t right and she must give it time. Vaijayanti and Simran leave for a holiday in Africa. They both have a gala time together but Simran starts feeling more for Vaijayanti and spends evenings alone at her room, thinking about her love for Vaijayanti and wants to express that to her. One day she tells Vaijayanti about her love but Vaijayanti refuses and tells her that she is not made for relationships. Simran gets the answer and disappears from Africa. Vaijayanti after trying everything helplessly calls Ishwar for help. They both try everything but fail to find Simran. Vaijayanti also liked Simran but some unusual experience that had happened with her 14 years back doesn’t let her fall in love. But she is attached with Simran, she is like family to her. Then after a long time Simran calls Ishwar that she is back and also tells him that she has killed something alive, she can get back to her life and misses him.
