JAMMU, Feb 4: The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta, held a protest in Jammu city against the release of 9,730 stone pelters in Kashmir.
Criticizing the decision of State Government to release 9,730 stone pelters in Valley, Shiv Sena activists lodged a strong protest at Rani Park. Gupta questioned the State Government whether a single case registered on any security personnel have been withdrawn while every year thousands of cases registered against anti-national elements are withdrawn and they are released without any condition.
He stated that out of the 9,730 total 56 are Government employees and 16 belonging to the Hurriyat group. “Stone pelting in Kashmir has become a full-fledged industry wherein the cadres of Hurriyat and its constituent groups have organized themselves at district, tehsil, wards and mohalla level, and leaders at appropriate stages have formed an armed wing represented by masked stone-pelters, consisting mainly of youth of Kashmir valley”, he said quoting NIA.
Stating that earlier the State Government announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh for Burhan Wani’s brother, who was also part of Hizbul group, Gupta said that FIRs are being registered against Army and the anti-nationals are being given compensation and Government jobs. He urged the Government not to release stone pelters and take strict action against them.
