JAMMU, Feb 6: Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC) along with Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust is taking out Shiv Barat (Shobha Yatra) on February 12, on the eve of Maha Shivratri festival which falls on February 13.
Talking to media persons, Mahant of the Temple Rishi Ban said that on February 12, a grand Shobha Yatra of Lord Shiva will be jointly taken out by Jammu and Kashmir Dharamarth Trust and SRMWC.
He said that the Shobha Yatra will start from Shri Ranbireshwar Temple at 3:30 PM and will pass through all main Bazaars of the old city viz. Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazaar Chowk , Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, Old Hospital Road, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Mubarak Mandi, Upper Bazaar, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Parade Chowk and will finally culminate at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple.
He said that “on February 13 a free medical camp with the co-operation of Indian System of Medicines will also be organized at temple premises in which renowned doctors will examine the patients and will give them free medicines.
He said that some religious, cultural programmes will also be organized by the renowned artists on the occasion of Maha Shivratri festival and made an appeal to all people and trade organizations to take part in these programmes and get blessings of Lord Shiva.
He also appealed to trader organizations of old Jammu city to decorate their markets with gates, buntings, lights to welcome Shiv Barat.
He said that on February 18 , a vishal bhandara will be also organized at Temple premises from 1.00 P.M to 4.00 P.M.
