JAMMU, Feb 9: To promote the game of Football and to give better competitive opportunities to the players in Kathua District, Hope Street Charitable Trust in association with Mehta Football Academy, Barnoti has announced a monthly football tournament by the name ‘Slobber-Knockers’ which will be held at the Minerva Public School premises.
This is monthly 7-a-side Football tournament which will be conducted on 2nd or 4th weekend of every month at Mehta Football Academy, Barnoti.
The founder of ‘Hope Street Trust’ Sham Mehta said that the objective of organizing this monthly event is to improve discipline, team spirit and to provide a continuous competition to all the football playing youth in Kathua.
The players will be able to evaluate themselves and a comparative standard will enrich in setting personal benchmark for each individual.
The award for winners will be Rs 5,000, while for runners-up it will Rs 3,000.
The award for man of the tournament will be Rs 1,000, while for top scorer and best goalkeeper, the prizes will be Rs 500 each.
