Various educational institutions celebrate ‘Gurpurab’

JAMMU, Nov 27: Various educational institutions celebrated “Gurpurab” with religious fervour and gaiety.
GD Goenka Public School celebrated Gurpurab with great fervour. On the occasion, Sanya Bansal, Director and OP Abrol, Chief Administrative Officer lighted the traditional lamp and declared the celebration of the day open. A special performance of Shabad Kitan was given by Dorje. Students attired as ‘Panj Pyare’ were the main attraction of the event.
Delhi Public School, Jammu organised a special ceremony to celebrate “Gurpurab”, with religious fervour and gaiety. On the occasion, Shabad Kirtan was sung by group of students and teachers to mark the anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. A short speech on the importance of Gurpurab was also delivered. Principal also felicitated students Tejaswi Singh, Namandeep Singh, Sangram Singh, Abhay Gupta, Harshdeep Singh, Harbinderpal Singh, Gurashish Pal Singh and Ananya Sahni, who won the State Level Rifle/Pistol Shooting Competition held at Government Degree College, Kathua.
To celebrate Gurpurab, Mother’s Pride and Joy Pre-School organised a visit of toddlers to Gurudwara, Nanak Nagar. The children listened to the preaching’s and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
