Kejriwal congratulates U19 cricketer Manjot Kalra on World Cup win

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday met U19 Indian cricketer Manjot Kalra and congratulated him for winning the World Cup against Australia.
The CM also wished Manjot all the best for the future. In-form opener Manjot Kalra’s unbeaten 101 guided India to lift the ICC Under 19 World Cup as India outclassed three-time champions Australia by eight wickets in the summit clash at the Bay Oval.
With this win, India has now become the only nation to bag the prestigious trophy four times. India’s last title win in the ICC Under 19 World Cup came in 2012, when the team led by Unmukt Chand had beaten Australia in the finals.
The Virat Kohli-led side had emerged victorious in 2008 and Mohammed Kaif was captain, when India triumphed way back in 2000. Chasing a modest target of 217, India got off to a decent start as Manjot and skipper Prithvi Shaw forged a 71-run partnership for the opening stand. (AGENCIES)
