YSCC, RCC sail into quarter finals

JAMMU, Dec 1: Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) and Patel Cricket Club as also Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) thrashed their respective opponents and sailed into the quarterfinals of the ongoing J&K Police Friendship Cup being organised jointly by J&K Police, Young Star Cricket Club and Simula Software at MA Stadium here.
In the first match of the day, Young Star Cricket Club registered 47 runs victory over Atman Cricket Club.
Batting first, Young Star Cricket Club scored 144 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Sahil Balwal played well and chipped in some crispy shots in his 65 runs contribution including nine boundaries and one lofty six, while Bansi Lal and Pardeep Bali also made 39 and 13 runs respectively.
For Atman Club side, Narinder was the wrecker-in-chief who scalped 3 wickets, while KK took one wicket.
In reply Atman Club failed to chase the target and bundled out at 97 runs for all out in 15.4 overs. Raman and Saleem made 23 runs each, while Noshad chipped in 22 runs.
For Young Star Club side, Sumit was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, while Sumit also took 2 wickets. Varun, Bansi Lal and Manjeet also claimed one wicket each
Sumit of Young Star Club was declared as man of the match for scalping 4 wickets.
In another match, Rainawari Cricket Club registered 5 wickets victory over Bhawani Cricket Club.
Electing to bat first, Bhawani Cricket Club made 155 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Amit Baloria showed outclass batting performance and chipped in 92 runs including 14 boundaries and two huge sixes. Rohit and Divya also made 31 and 14 respectively.
For Rainawari Club Side, Veenus scalped one wicket.
In reply, Rainawari Club chased the target easily for the loss of 5 wickets in 16.4 overs. Zeeshan was the top scorer with 37 runs, while Shahbaz, Ishan and Ajay Sharma also made 36, 30 and 28 runs respectively.
For Bhawani Club side, Rohit took 2 wickets, while Himalaya, Amit Baloria and Mannav scalped one wicket each.
Shahbaz of Rainawari Cricket Club was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep and Suhail as umpires, while Sanjay maintained the scorecard.
Meanwhile, Vishal Cricket Club will take on Rainawari Cricket Club, while JKAP XI will clash with Secretariat XI in quarterfinals tomorrow.
