20th State Kabaddi Championship commences

JAMMU, Feb 26: 20th State Kabaddi Championship in men and women categories, being organized by J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association commenced today.
The championship was inaugurated by former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, who also interacted with the participating players. General Secretary of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association Surinder Mohan Gupta and Anil Gupta President J&K Amature Kabaddi Association were also present on the occasion.
Teams from Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Baramulla, Pulwama, Rajouri, Poonch, Kupwara and Budgam districts are participating in the championship.
Abdul Qyoom, Chief Sports Officer of Sports Council, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, CEO of Kabaddi Association, Sangram Singh, Treasurer, Anil Gutpa Joint Secretary, BS Thirthi, Vice President and SS Gill, Associate Vice President were among others present on the occasion.
In Men section, Jammu beat Rajouri by 56 points, while Baramulla defeated Anantnag by 6 points.
In Women section, Srinagar beat Anantnag by 32 points, while Jammu beat Udhampur by 40 points.
The matches were officiated by Anil Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Ankush Gupta, Jeet Singh, Dharamjeet Singh, Guma, Ameen and Laiqyat Ali.
