JAMMU, Mar 8: Outplaying Bhatia Cricket Club by 28 runs in the semifinals, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing Salute &Tribute to Sunjuwan Martyrs Jammu District Rural Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu District Cricket Alliance, an affiliate Unit of Parade Sports Association at Parade ground, here.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Vijay Sabarwal, President Parade Sports Association and Chairman of the the Organising Committee.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Singh Cricket Club scored a good total of 193 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. Sumit Rajput scored a brilliant half-century, scoring valuable 53 runs, studded with 7 boundaries and one six, while Gourav Jamwal contributed 36 runs with 6 boundaries. Rahul Sharma, Manik Sharma, Happy Kumar and Arush Jamwal contributed 21, 15, 11 and 10 runs to the total respectively.
For Bhatia Cricket Club, Ramnik Singh was the wrecker-ib-chief, who took 5 important wickets by conceding 23 runs in his 5 overs, while Abhishek Mottan bagged 4 wickets by giving away 23 runs in his 5 overs. Ankush Sharma also claimed one wicket.
In reply, Bhatia Cricket Club Bishnah managed to score 165 runs, thus lost the match by by 28 runs. Reshav Fotra to scored with 58 runs, studded with 7 boundaries and 2 sixes, Gourav Manhas, Vansh Sharma and Anil Dogra also contributed 28, 13 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For SCC Akhnoor, skipper Sham Singh langeh took 3 important wickets by giving away 25 runs in his 5 overs, while Happy Kumar took 3 wicket by conceding 32 runs. Sunil Kuamr, Aarush Jamwal and Rahul Sharma shared one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Harsh Nayyar and Rajesh Jaitley as umpires.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Lions Cricket Club Bohri will take on Young Stars Cricket Club Nagrota.
The winner will face Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor in the title clash.
