JAMMU, Mar 8: On the eve of International Women’s Day, national level coach and cricketer, Roopali Slathia today presented a copy of her book on women cricket to Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today.
First woman cricket coach of Jammu and Kashmir to successfully complete Level-B course, Roopali is also currently working on her doctoral research on women cricketing in the State. She has also previously held Indian women coaching camp at National Cricket Academy (NCA).
The Chief Minister complimented the young cricket star from the State and wished her success in the days ahead to emerge as a role model for the younger generations.
It is pertinent to mention here that Roopali has the distinction of leading the State’s Senior and Junior Women’s teams more than once, besides serving the Department of Youth Services and Sports as Lecturer in Physical Education.
On the occasion, Roopali was accompanied by her husband Advocate Surinder Singh Jamwal.
