Gagan kick starts blacktopping of road

JAMMU, Mar 17: MLA R.S Pura, Dr.Gagan Bhagat today kick started the blacktopping from Main Road Salehar at village Chak Jagtu.
The blacktopping of the road was the long pending demand of the locals. The total length of the road is about 1.4 kilometers which will be blacktopped at an estimated cost of Rs.40 lakh from Salehar Main road to village Chak Jagtu.
Senior and prominent citizens from village Chak Jagtu and its adjoining villages of Salehar, Chak Tahir, Kothey Salehar, Gandli, Rathana,Kalyana also accompanied Dr.Gagan and complimented him for his sincere efforts , as the locals were interested in the developmental work and have been demanding it for the past several years.
The issue was raised several times before the previous NC-Congress Government and their M.L.As, Ministers but all in vain as they did nothing except fake promises and assurances. The Bharatiya Janata Party, in its election manifesto in the Assembly elections of 2014 had promised to construct the road and work has been started within few months, the villagers said.
While addressing the gathering, Dr.Gagan said that the Modi Government at the Centre is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of three regions of the State including, road connectivity, electricity, health services, drainage system and education. He said it has been providing liberal funding to the State for accelerating developmental and economic activities so that the State is developed in all respects.
He apprised the people that there was no constraint of funds for completing the ongoing projects in a time bound manner. He also informed that a comprehensive plan has been formulated for up-gradation and expansion of basic facilities to provide all infrastructural facilities to the people of R.S Pura constituency. He sought cooperation of the people in implementing the development programme on ground level. The people of the area apprised the MLA about their demands and grievances seeking their immediate redressal.
Dr.Gagan said that some political parties are making every efforts to divide the people on regional basis and their only agenda is to derail the developmental process started by the Coalition Government. He said that people can themselves compare the pace of developmental activities with the period of their regime and they can themselves feel the difference.
