UDHAMPUR, Mar 19: A middle aged man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in village Palnoo, tehsil Majalta of Udhampur district.
The deceased was identified as Mohan Lal (55), son of Gulabu Ram. He consumed some poisonous substance at his residence this morning. The family members noticed him in serious condition and vomiting. They rushed him to Primary Health Center (PHC) Majalta where doctors referred him to DH Udhampur. However, he died on the way to hospital.
Later the Majalta Police handed over the dead body to family members of the deceased after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained.
