JAMMU, Mar 25: The runners of Jammu Runners Group (JRG) once again brought laurels for the state by winning 5 medals in the recently concluded Half Marathon at Bathinda in Punjab.
The event which was organized by Bhatinda Marathon Runners witnessed a total participation of 2500 runners drawn from various states of the country.
The main attraction of the event was that Rajesh Padha, who serves as a beacon light to guide and goad these runners to blossom at the higher levels, became the first Half Marathon Pacer of the State, giving the timing 1.55 hours. Sunil Dogra, Bupesh Gupta, Sachin Dev Singh of HDFC Bank and Abishek also got finishers medals.
Mr Padha was honoured for being Pacer and completing his 31st Marathon. Gaurav Gupta, Secretary Chamber of Commerce and Industry completed his Barefoot Half Marathon in style.
This was his 2nd Barefoot Half Marathon and was honoured as a ‘guest of honour’ by Bhatinda Runners for running Barefoot 21 kms on Bhatinda Roads as an Ambassador for the Half Marathon.
He attributed his success to Mr Padha (Mentor), CCI Jammu Members, Silverlines, Gold’s Gym Management, family, friends and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
