UDHAMPUR, Mar 28: Highlighting the achievements of Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP State general secretary Pawan Khajuria today said that Udhampur has witnessed unprecedented development in the last three years.
While talking to the media persons at party office, here today, Khajuria listed the achievements and developmental works, initiated during the last three and half years, particularly by Dr Jitendra Singh, who represented Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha.
Stressing that record developments have been done in historic town of Udhampur, he referred to the roads being constructed under the PMGSY and CRF. He added that the extent of the work has been exemplary on the measures of quality and the quantity. He pointed that the quality of road works in the past always remained questionable for the reasons best known to the earlier Governments.
Terming Rs 170.5 crore Devika Project and Radio Station as historic contributions of Dr Jitendra Singh to Udhampur, Pawan Khajuria informed that Devika project DPR was being given final touches while work on the functioning of Radio Station has also been initiated. Further, he added, Udhampur has become first district to have district level Passport office.
Dr Jitendra Singh has always remained on the forefront for the help of J&K people, living outside the State for the admissions in colleges, hospital facilities or anything else,” Khajuria said.
Regarding the refugees of Saddal village, the BJP leader said that the entire area is damaged and it has been declared unsafe in the opinion of the experts, due to which, setting up any colony there is not possible. “Dr Jitendra Singh has asked the district officials to look for another safe place so that a safe colony can be set up to rehabilitate them,” he informed and claimed that the BJP does not believe in votebank politics whether it be the Central Government or Coalition Government of the State. ” BJP always does the politics on agenda of development,” he maintained.
Others, who were present during the press conference, included Udhampur Mandal president Vikas Pachyala, Tikri Malad Mandal president Karnail Singh, Udhampur Mandal general secretary Sanjay Verma, Jagannu Mandal general secretary Ajay Singh, Jib Mandal general secretary Avinash and Milkhi Ram from State Advisory Board for SC.
