NEW DELHI, Mar 29: The government has permitted import of used goods for repairing, refurbishing or re-engineering them, albeit with certain conditions.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification that waste generated during the repair or refurbishing of such goods has to be treated as per domestic laws and rules and the imported item should be re-exported.
“Import policy for second hand goods imported for the purpose of repair/refurbishing/re-conditioning or re-engineering is laid down,” it said.
In a separate notification, it said that import of seal, an aquatic mammal, in any form is prohibited. (PTI)
