JAMMU, Mar 31: Legal Stars sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing Layers Annual Sports Meet, being organized by J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, here.
In the first semifinal, Legal Star XI outplayed Caribeans XI by 36 runs to enter finals.
Put into bat, Legal A Star scored 165 runs in 15 overs. Samiullah was the highest scorer with 68 runs, while Sherhoz and Surinder contributed 37 and 25 runs to thetotal respectively. Amit Dogra and Abhishek took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Carribeans XI scored 130 runs. Amit Dogra was the top scorer with 42 runs, while Usman scored 31 runs and Abhishek chipped in with 20 runs. For Legal A Star, Parvesh Salaria took 3 wickets, while Samiullh and Sherhoz took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, on day-5 today, Caribeans XI defeated Striker XI by 8 wickets.
Caribeans XI scored 121 runs in 12 overs. Avish was the top scorer with 42 runs off just 16 balls, while Amulya and Bhan contributed 36 and 17 runs to the total respectively. From Caribeans XI Abishek, Priyanshu, Vikram and Vishal took 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target Caribeans XI scored 122 runs in 11.5 overs. Usman and Amit Dogra scored 39 runs each. Prithavi, Avinay and Dineshwar took 1 wicket each.
In another quarterfinal match played today, Paradise XI trounced Avenger XI by 16 runs.
Paradise XI after winning the toss batted first and scored 103 runs in 12 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Guru Pratap was the top scorer with 47 runs whereas Vikas contributed 17 runs to the total. Tareez took 2 wickets and Ashwani, Manzoor and Ahsain claimed 1 wicket each. In reply Avenger XI scored 89 runs to lose the match by 16 runs.
