JAMMU, Apr 5: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) today deferred their sit-in-protest from April 7 to April 12.
The announcement in this connection was made by Sushil Sudan, president, JKMEF, while addressing a press conference here today. He said the office bearers of the Federation has unanimously decided to postpone the dharna which was scheduled to be staged on April 4 and now the same will be staged on April 12 at DHS complex.
Sushil Sudan said that the decision in this regard has been taken due to the engagement of health employees on the occasion of World Health Day, which is falling on April 7, as many free health camps and various other programs are organized on this special day for the general public and JKMEF is not only committed for the welfare of employees but for the general masses too.
In the last, Sudan again requested the higher authorities to fulfill the demands of the health employees which include immediate issuance of DPC order of all the categories, amendment of SRO 20, adoption of transparency in transfer policy, notional benefit to the all adhoc and contractual employees of the department, risk allowance to all medical employees.
He also reiterated other demands like filling up of all vacant posts of gazetted/non gazetted cadre as per sanctioned position in rural areas as well as in urban health institutions, adequate supply of medicine in all institutions and framing of regularization policy for the employees engaged under SRO 384/409.
Others who address the media persons were Vinod Sharma (secretary general, JKMEF), Parfulat Singh (general secretary), Harpal Singh and Jarnail Singh.
