JAMMU, Apr 14: Gorkha Cricket Club registered thrilling 4-run victory over star-studded National Cricket Club in the ongoing 1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup, being played at Parade Cricket Ground, here.
1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup is being organized by Patel Cricket under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
The event is being organized under the Supervision of Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, President Patel Club and Vijay Sharma, Secretary of the Club.
Earlier, batting first, Gorkha Cricket Club scored a fighting total of 143 runs in 19.1 overs. Raul (34), Kavit (27) and Saqib (22) were the main scorers. From NCC, Pranav Mahajan and Abhishant Bakshi took 3 wickets each, while Rakesh bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, National Cricket Club managed to score 139 runs in 19.3 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 4 runs. Gokul Baru top scored with 24 runs, while Abdul Samad and Abhishant Bakshi contributed 22 runs each.
From GCC, Raul took 4 wickets, Saqib captured 3 and Ashu claimed 2. Raul was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sudhir Singh, Amit Gupta and Rahul Kumar while the post match proceedings were conducted by Sohan Bharti.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Saffron Cricket Club will take on Simbal Wala Club at 9 am.
