JAMMU, Apr 19: The teams of ED-III and ED-II registered victories over their rivals in the ongoing 2nd PDD Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Green Field ground, here.
In the first match, ED-III defeated C&P by 3 wickets. Batting first, C&P scored 128 in 19.5 overs. Shiv Anand to scored with 52 while Anil contributed 19 runs to the total. For ED-II, Kamaljeet and Suresh took 2 wickets each.
In reply, ED-III scored the required runs in 17.4 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Surinder top scored with 59 runs, while Jatinder contributed 30 runs to the total. Hardeep and Rajinder took 2 wickets each for C&P. Surinder was adjudged as the man of the match, while Rajinder was declared as the best bowler.
In another match, ED-II trounced S&O by a narrow margin of 8 runs in a close contest.
Bating first, ED-II scored 163 runs in 20 overs. Jugraj, Raghu and Manmeet scored 37, 34 and 33 runs to the total respectively. Avinash and Kailash took 3 wickets each for S&O.
In reply, S&O managed to score 155 runs in the stipulated ovrers by losing 8 wickets, thus lostthe match by a narrow margin of 8 runs. Parshotam top scored with 58 runs, while Kailash contributed 34 runs to the total. Varinder took 3 wickets for ED-II, while Sumit Puri claimed 1 wicket. Parshotam and Varinder were declared as the best batsman and best bowler respectively.
