KATRA, Apr 23: Pahelwan Nisar Ahmed of J&K Police and resident of Doda lifted 3rd Mand (Tikri) Dangal 2018 Title by defeating Sunny of Pathankot (Punjab) in the first malli bout that played at Mand, near here today.
Dangal was organized by Mand Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President Mand Dangal committee Manohar Lal and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri).
MLA Udhampur, Pawan Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up wrestlers.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar presided over the function, while Vice President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) was the guest of honour.
In all, 36 bouts were played in the one day long dangal and winner of 1st malli bout Nisar was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 by Pawan Gupta, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Naresh Kumar while runners-up wrestler Sunny was given Rs 8,000 by Manohar Lal, Sudesh Kumar and Sheetal Seth.
The second main bout was won by Mindha of Pathankot who defeated Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu.
Mand Dangal Committee members and Technical officials who helped in conduct of the event were Manohar Lal (President), Sudesh Kumar, Sansar Chand, Sheetal Seth, Bittu, Gurdeep Singh, Bodh Raj Seth, Hem Raj, Ram Krishan Seth, Ashok Kumar Seth, Jyoti Parkash, Sewa Singh, Kirpan Ali, Farman Ali, Sher Ali, Barkat Ali, Mohd Sain, Hakim Din, Asham Din, Rajinder Kumar, Ashok Kumar and Raj Singh.
