SRINAGAR, Apr 26: Prime Spartans Narbal and Al-Jamal Sherdils emerged as victorious after exceptional performances in the second day matches of the ongoing Kashmir Narbal Premier League (KNPL) on Thursday.
In the first match of the day, Prime Spartans Narbal was against Al-Haram at Narbal cricket ground here.
Prime Spartans won the toss and elected to bat first. The team put 130 runs on board in 20 allotted overs. Muhammad Yaqoob with 30 runs and Manzoor Illahi with 28 runs were the notable scorers for the Prime Spartans.
For Al-Haram, Umar took three wickets for 23 runs in four overs.
In reply, Al-Haram team could not achieve the set target and were bundled on 108 runs only thus losing the match with 22 runs. For them, Aijaz Ganai was highest scorer with 39 runs.
For his knock of 28 runs and two wickets, Manzoor Illahi was adjudged as man of the match.
In second match of the day, Al-Jamal Sherdils Sozieth was against Bhat Badshahs Sozieth.
Bhat Badshahs won the toss and elected to bat first. The team was bundled out by Al-Jamal Sherdils bowlers for only 143 runs. The highest scorer for them was Sajad Sofi with 37 runs. For Al-Jamal Sherdils, Jaleel and Saleem took two wickets each.
In reply, the Al-Jamal Sherdils achieved the required target in 19 overs for the loss of nine wickets keeping one over in spare.
For the wining team, skipper Showkat Ahmad scored 29 runs in just 16 balls while as Jaleel Ahmad scored 22 runs. Jaleel Ahmad was adjudged as man of the match for his knock of 22 runs in just 10 balls and he also took two wickets.
On Saturday, two matches will be played. In the first match Ghat Warriors Narbal will lock horns with Bazar Badshahs Narbal at 9:30 am while as in the second match of the day Kashmir Lions Narbal will clash with Friends Motors Narbal at 1:30 pm.
The league is being organized by Cricket Association Narbal and sponsored by Sky Tyre Emporium, Celestial Buds School, Qadria Institute, Dawat Food Zone, Jehangir Bakery, Bhat Electricals, Raja Dhaba and NCC Narbal.
