JAMMU, Apr 27: Players displayed extraordinary talent and skill while vying for the top honours in the ongoing Inter School District Level Tournament for girls in the sports discipline of Kickboxing and Taekwondo for the year 2018-19 of District Jammu at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director.
Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the competitions is to select the teams of Jammu District for the Inter District Division Level Competitions.
In Kickboxing Under-17 Girls, 50 kg, Taruna Sabarwal of Sanskriti School, Sunidhi of Doon International and Bhoomi of Jammu Sanskriti School emerged victorious.
In Kickboxing U-14 girls, -32 kg, Gurleen of Model Academy, Archita of Model Academy, Tanisha of Jammu Sanskriti School and Asmi Katoch of Doon International emerged winners.
In Taekwondo Girls Under-17, the winners in various weight categories included
Shalvi of Jammu Sanskriti, Siya Saini, Janvi of Jammu Sanskriti, Palak of Cresent Public School, Komal of Jammu Sanskriti, Nanditya Singh of Lord Shiva, while in Taekwondo Girls Under-14, Taniya of New Shiksha Public School, Rupleen Kour of Jammu Sanskriti School, Arunakshi of MHAC Nagbani, Antraksha of MHAC, Aaya of Jammu Sanskriti School, Komal Singh Bhau of Lord Shiva, Sanya Sharma of New Shiksha Public School, Twinkle Bandral of Nedam Public School, Sakshi of Crescent Public School, Rishika Bhat of Crescent Public School and Divya Sharma of Banyan International.
The bouts were officiated by Varinder Kumar, Raman Sharma, Mukta Gupta, Kamal Singh and Nitin Sharma.
