Jammu, Gandhi Nagar, Arnia zones hold Inter-School competitions

JAMMU, May 2: Jammu, Gandhi Nagar and Arnia Zones organized Inter-School competitions in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball and Kho-Kho in the age groups of Under-14 and Under-17 at different venues here today.
On day-2 of the Inter-School competition of Jammu Zone, being held under the supervision of Ravi Kumari, ZPEO Jammu at Bhartiya Vidhya Mandir, Amphalla, President Bhartiya Vidhya Mandir, Ram Lal was the chief guest.
In Kabaddi, MC Khalsa defeated Tiny Tots by 14 points, GHSS Nowabad beat GHSS Mubarak Mandi by 6 points, while the other winners included SOS, GHSS Rehari, Bhartiya Vidhya Mandir and Anuradha Mission School.
In Kho-Kho, the winners included HS Janipur, HS City Chowk, Guru Nanak Public School, Anuradha Mission, HSS Rehari, SOS and HSS Bazar Kasaban.
At Guru Harkrishan Public School, the final day of boys section matches of Gandhi Nagar Zone were held under the supervision of ZPEO Gandhi Nagar.
In Kabaddi Under-14 boys final, Government MS Railway Colony drubbed Doon International School by 9 points, while in Kabaddi Under-17 boys title clash, Government HSS Channi Himmat defeated Doon International School, while KB Public School won Kho-Kho Under-14 and Volleyball Under-17 titles and Govt HS Kaluchak claimed Kho-Kho Under-17 title.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Level Inter-School Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball competitions were held at Higher Secondary School, Arnia, under the supervision of ZPEO Arnia.
Vice Principal HSS Arnia was the chief guest on the occasion, who threw light on the importance of games and sports in the present era.
In Kho-Kho Under-14, MS Suhagpur and St Joseph Convent Arnia emerged winners, while in Kho-Kho Under-17, St Joseph Convent and HS Arnia were the winners.
In Kabaddi Under-14 boys, again St Joseph Convent and HS Arnia emerged winners, while in Kabaddi Under-17 boys, HSS Allah and St Joseph Convent emerged winners.
In Volleyball Under-17 years, HSS Salehar and St Joseph Convent were the winners.
