CUKTA holds GBM with its new Presidium

SRINAGAR, May 3: The Central University of Kashmir Teachers Association (CUKTA) organized its fourth General Body Meeting (GBM) today in the Campus 1 of CUK.
A spokesman of the association in a statement said that it was the first meeting of the teachers body, a week after its second presidium was elected.
He said the meeting was presided by the newly elected president of CUKTA Shahnaz Bashir who is the senior faculty in its Department of Convergent Journalism. “Out of total number of seventy-five, the GBM was attended by fifty five faculty members from the eighteen departments of the university including senior professors,” he said.
He said the GBM elected its Executive Committee for the second tenure of the CUKTA and also discussed various issues faced by the teachers of the university. “The teachers body vowed to maintain a healthy relationship with the university administration and help the university to work for the progress of the CUK,” he said.
Shahnaz Bashir while addressing the gathering said that they will not only represent our genuine rights but also extend any help to our university to work towards progress.
