DODA, May 3: Thathri police arrested a rape accused, who was absconding for the past over six months.
As per police sources, on October 20 last year, a complaint was lodged by the parents with Police Station Thathri stating that their daughter was kidnapped and later raped by Shakti Kumar, son of Kundan Lal, a resident of Charya, tehsil Thathri.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 60/17 under Sections 363 and 376 RPC was registered at Thathri Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, police teams conducted raids in different areas and finally arrested the rapist from Arnia area of district Jammu.
Police team led by SHO Thathri Sunil Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma, Additional SP Bhaderwah Rajinder Singh and SSP Doda Mohammed Shabir.
