NEW DELHI, May 9: Cardamom prices rose 3 per cent to Rs 954.70 per kg in futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand.
Tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from growing regions supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May contract was trading higher by Rs 27.80, or 3 per cent, to Rs 954.70 per kg in a business turnover of just one lot.
The June contract of the spice traded higher by Rs 7.30, or 0.79 per cent, to Rs 923 per kg with trading volume of 14 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand in spot market pushed up cardamom prices. (PTI)
