JAMMU, May 14: Bakshi Nagar police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested three drug peddlers including a suspended police constable along with heroin.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station laid a naka at Hari Singh Nagar near Rehari and intercepted a Honda City car bearing registration number JK02R-5200.
During checking, police recovered 6 grams heroin from the possession of three persons traveling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Arvind Kapoor alias Bablu (suspended cop), son of Raj Kapoor of Hari Singh Nagar, Kulbir Singh alias Kannu, son of Ram Singh of Rehari Colony and Arun Jamwal, son of Sham Singh Jamwal, a resident of Jagti Nagrota, at present Paloura.
A case under FIR Number 65/18 under Sections 8/21/22/29 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma and assisted by SI Rahul Dogra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Pranav Mahajan, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
