SAMBA, May 14: One person died in a road accident on Monday morning on the National Highway, Ghurha Morh falling under the jurisdiction of Vijaypur Police Station.
He has been identified as Parashottam Lal, 68, son of Lakhhu Ram from Karoli Pathankot (Punjab).
According to the information, Lal’s wife had died some time ago, for performing her religious rites, he came from Pathankot on his motorcycle No: PB35T-4792 and was on way to Devika Purmandal. At Vijaypur town, the superfast bus on way from Jammu to Kathua bearing registration number JK21C-1495 hit the motorcycle resulting into the on the spot death of biker.
After receiving information of the incident, Vijaypur Police reached the Emergency Hospital Vijaypur where he was shifted by then. His family was later informed through telephone.
The dead body was later taken to Ramgarh CHC Hospital for post mortem and then handed over to the family.
The police seized the bus and arrested the driver. Police after registering a case against the driver, started investigating.
