No illegal structure permissible on State land: DC

KATHUA, May 19: The Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rohit Khajuria said that no illegal construction of any religious structure will be allowed on State land.
Talking to media persons here, today he said on the directions of Supreme Court of India which took serious exception to encroachments made for construction of temples and shrines the Government is bound to remove such illegal constructions.
While giving a copy of Supreme Court of India directions, Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria briefed that all the respondents are directed to take immediate steps for removal of encroachment of religious structure on the public space without any discrimination and submit their reports. He said the State Government and Chief Secretary on regular basis is collecting the information from the district administration about the encroachment of religious structure on public land.
He appealed the people of district to cooperate with the administration and not take law in their hands by encroaching any piece of State land for raising religious structure over it and cooperate with administration. He said such case has taken place two days back when some people tried to raise illegal structure on public land and the administration took stern action against them and demolished the structure.
