JAMMU, Dec 16: Jodhamal Public School (JPS) today celebrated its eighth annual day ‘Kaleidoscope of Colours’ in its school campus, with enthusiasm and fervour.
Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, RS Chib, was the chief guest and Justice Muzaffar Jan (retd) and Director, KNIT, JL Kotwal were the guests of honour. They were welcomed by Trustees of the School, Vikrant Kuthiala and Nandan Kuthiala, Principal of the School, Trilok Singh Bist and vice-principal Rohini Aima. The promoter of the School, Aarti Kuthiala was also part of the welcome party.
The function was also graced by Commissioner, Central Excise and Customs, Rajesh Puri, IGP, Srinivasan and IGP, J&K Police, Farooq Khan.
The ‘Kaleidoscope of Colours’ was kicked off by unfurling of the School Flag and singing national song ‘Vande Matram’. This was followed by a relay of the Torch carried by Jodhamal Public School’s outstanding athletes and march past along with band.
The girls of class VIII and IX performed Ganesh Vandana, which was followed by cultural activities and demonstration by the school orchestra. This was further followed by parody of cricket, sweet gyrations to the music, martial art demonstration and dances by the students of various standards.
The chief guest and guests of honour felicitated the achievers in Academics, Sports, Cultural and Scholastic activities.
In his speech, Chib, commended the staff and students of JPS for the tremendous efforts put in to make the show a success. He appreciated the trustees of the school in their vision for imparting quality education in the State.
Principal of the School, Trilok Singh Bist, readout the Annual Report of the School highlighting the milestones crossed by the school in its educational journey with the students receiving laurels and accolades in almost every field.
Later during award ceremony, Enterprise House was adjudged as the Best House in Academics, Discovery House won the award of Best House in CCA, Invention House got the Sports Trophy while the Champions Trophy (Junior) and Champions Trophy (Senior) went to Challenge House and Discovery House, respectively. The students of Class 10th who achieved 10 CGPA were also felicitated on the occasion.
