JAMMU, Dec 16 : Reiterating commitment of the Government to upgrade rural infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said addressing development aspirations of those living in far flung belts is on the priority list of the Government and work on the road map to equip the areas with all required infrastructure is apace.
He was addressing a large public meeting at Rakh Malal, Khour.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government is steadfast on its resolve to take the development revolution to all parts of the State and special care has been taken to address the infrastructure requirements of border and rural pockets of the State, adding that upcoming Kaleeth Grid Station would go a long way to improve power infrastructure in the area.
While responding to the demands projected by the people with respect to PDD, Mr. Tara Chand directed the concerned officers to prepare a comprehensive project for power cables of the area. He instructed for immediate changing of worn out cables so as to meet emergency requirements of the people.
He also directed the PHE authorities to put the already constructed tubewell to testing so that the same may be commissioned and people of the area get respite from potable water difficulties.
Showing concern on the condition of lanes, drains in the village, the Deputy Chief Minister said that work on up gradation of internal roads and lanes is already underway and concerned engineers have been directed to take up the work of black topping on priority. Ongoing rains have delayed the work but the same would be completed at the earliest, he reiterated.
Later, Mr. Tara Chand attended annual day cum silver jubilee celebrations of Nirmala High School, Kaleeth. He was chief guest on the occasion.
Founding Principal of the missionary school Fr. P.A. Joseph along with team of teachers and school officials joined the celebrations.
A colorful extravaganza of cultural items by the school students marked the celebrations of the event.
On the occasion meritorious students as well as alumni of the school were awarded by the chief guest.
