JAMMU, May 28: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister to review the decision taken recently by the State Government with regard to the payment of 7th Pay Commission arrears in three instalments in favor of State pensioners.
Shastri, as per earlier decision, the arrears were paid in three instalments, but the same has been revised for the age group of 80 years pensioners who are to be paid arrears in one instalment, it would be in the fitness of things if all the pensioners of all age groups are treated with one yard stick. Shastri said this while addressing a NMC workers meet at village Kanjali.
He said that once an employee gets retired from Government service, he remains totally dependent on his pension, as good will gesture, the State Government should also give the 7th Pay Commission arrears to State pensioners in one go so that the pensioners would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation.
Shastri hoped that the Chief Minister will look into this matter sympathetically and issue same order in releasing 7th Pay Commission arrears to the State pensioners in one instalment, as this order has already been released for the age group of 80 years pensioners by the State Government some days ago.
Shastri also demanded early enhancing of Medical Allowance to rupees one thousand on the pattern of Central Government pensioners to the State pensioners, implementation of SRO 520 beside, releasing of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State Government, issuance of orders for removing all pay anomalies of clerical cadre, total exemption of DA from Income Tax slab and increasing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs 350 per day etc.
