Chib, Malik chair meet on Scouts, Guides

JAMMU, Dec 17: The activities of Scouts and Guides organization would be stepped-up to inculcate sense of self- discipline, morality, patriotism and nationalism among youth of the State.
This was stated in a review meeting jointly chaired by the Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports R S Chib and Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik here today.
Chib said that it was encouraging to note that various steps have been taken to promote the activities of Scouts & Guides organization in the educational institutions for the last 3-4 years.
It was unanimously decided that to improve the financial health of the organization, every student from Government and private educational institutes, Government and private Industrial Training Institutes and Polytechnic would contribute towards Scouts & Guides funds.
Expressing gratitude to Governor N N Vohra for providing funds for the construction of Scouts & Guides Headquarter at Kot Bhalwal, Mr. Chib said that the land identified for the purpose would be transferred at the earliest. He said that the present headquarters of the organization would also be renovated.
Commissioner Secretary, Youth Services & Sports Bipul Pathak, Director, Youth Services & Sports S. Jaipal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu,  Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma, Superintendent Engineer, R&B P L Bhushan, State Commissioner, Scouts & Guides I D Soni, and Zonal Commissioner, Joshi were present in the meeting.
