JAMMU, Dec 18: Securing highest 19 points, the Post Graduate Department of University of Jammu bagged overall Championship, while Government SPMR College of Commerce claimed runners-up trophy by securing 12 points in the Inter-Collegiate Weight Lifting Championship, which got underway at Jammu University, here today.
Earlier, in 62 kg category, Amit Sharma of PG bagged gold, Avinash of GGM Science College, Jammu claimed silver and Vinod Singh of Commerce College clinched bronze.
In 69 kg category, Manish Charak of PG, Samarjeet of MAM College and Sunil Singh Bhau of Commerce College claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In 77 kg category, Ashish Gupta of Commerce College won gold, Chander Bhau Singh of MAM College bagged silver and Harinderpal Singh of PG got bronze.
85 kg category gold went to Lucky Pandita of Commerce College, silver to Sunil Kumar of PG, while the bronze was bagged by Arif Hussain of MAM College.
In 94 kg category, Aman Khajuria of PG and Ishtaq Ahmed of MAM College claimed gold and silver respectively, while in 105 kg category, Pankaj Kumar of PG won the gold.
The matches were officiated by Inspector Daljeet Singh, Dhanraj Singh Salathia, Sunil Sharma, Dyal Singh, Vijay Kumar and Dilip Chib.
