Vomedh stages ‘Srishti Maa’

JAMMU, June 11: Continuing its Terrace Theatre series the Vomedh Rangmanch today staged “Srishti Maa”a powerful play on preservation of environment and Swatch Bharat Abhiyan as the 2nd episode of its “Terrace Theatre” series at Vomedh Headquarters at Janipur on Sunday.
The 2nd episode of “Terrace Theatre” was dedicated to the local children from down trodden families to create awareness among them about Swatch Bharat Abhiyan and preservation of environment.
“Srishti Maa” written by Rakesh Roshan Bhat and directed by Rajni Bhatti under the supervision of Project Director, Rohit Bhat has caught the attention of the people for its strong message in a subtle way and has been staged as Nukkad Natak for Save Tawi Abhiyan, Summer Festival of Cultural Academy a number of times.
It is also worth mentioning here that the “Terrace Theatre”, one of its first kind series in India has been conceived by social activist and actor, King C Bharati, who is also a part of Vomedh theatre group and is trying to contribute through meaningful and purposeful theatre in the State to involve the society in theatre and interactive mode to create a society that interacts between humans rather than depending on social media.
Rockey Pandita, Anita Chandpuri  social activists and Aryan Ramesh of AIKS were special invitees besides, the local theatre lovers,  children and their families from the slum areas.
Krishna Koul Pandita wife of late Advocate Badri Nath Pandita, a prominent social activist, donated Rs 5000 in cash for the Vomedh Group on behalf of BN Pandita Foundation and appreciated the dedication of the group in promoting theatre through “Terrace Theatre” series.
It may be recalled that the theatre series is yet another step in promoting regular theatre activities by Vomedh group to involve youngsters and new entrants in community theatre and to give them a regular opportunity to enjoy meaningful theatre.
The artists who took part in the play included Rajni Bhatti, Dazy Bazaz, Ramesh Pandita, Ishu Bharati, Himagini Moza, Shivam Koul, Anil Langeh, Rinku Zutshi and Omar Qureshi.
