Remote areas to get focused attention for development: Nirmal Singh

KATHUA, June 14: To reach out to people living in remote and backward pockets of Billawar, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Dr. Nirmal Singh today convened  a public meeting at village Upperdhar.
The Speaker gave a patient hearing   to the problems being faced by the people and assured them that pace of development will be increased in these backward areas to bring them at par with other areas.
During the public meet, Dr. Singh directed the concerned officers of Forest Department to give timely forest clearance to all the PMGSY roads in the area for better  road connectivity of the area.
He  announced Rs. 7 lakh from his CDF for Ward No.1 of Upperdhar for augmenting PHE infra after making an estimate of feasible PHE scheme.
To create durable and useful assets for the villagers, Speaker announced one Community Facilitation Centre (CFC) for Upperdhar and assured them of resolving their issues on priority. He also said that extending basic amenities to the people living in far off places was the prime concern of present dispensation.
While briefing the gathering, Dr. Singh informed about various developmental initiatives taken by the Government and asked the people to come forward for participatory planning. He further assured people that more such camps will be organized frequently  to help the rural population .
At Mangar, the Speaker announced two hand pumps  and assured people   that all the water stressed areas of his constituency are given prime focus as major amount of his CDF is being spent to provide potable water to the people of water deficient areas.
Nirmal Singh directed the officers to remain in contact with the people, pay regular visits and organize camps in all the remote areas to generate awareness about the various government schemes designed for the welfare of general public.
