Govt committed to provide better basic amenities: Ajaz

REASI, Dec 19:  Minister of State for Haj, Aquaf, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Ajaz Ahmed Khan, has said that Government is committed to provide better basic amenities with focus on road connectivity, drinking water supply, medicare and education in every part of the State.
Addressing a public gathering at Salal Khad, Reasi, the Minister said that a number of road projects under PMGSY are being executed in the district to provide enhanced road connectivity to the neglected areas for their socio economic empowerment.
Mr. Khan issued instructions to the district administration for early completion of the ongoing PMGSY road project from Nishad More to Indra Morh.
Responding to the demand of locals regarding electrification of un electrified adjoining areas, the Minister asked the DDC Reasi to take up the matter with authorities of Salal project.
Mr. Khan also directed for setting up of first aid centre, construction of bridle path and sanitary complex, drinking water supply and beautification of the areas near Shiv Cave at Sala Khad.
The Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area put forth various demands which mainly included approach road up to Shiv Cave, road connectivity for heavy vehicles, upgradation of Primary Schools, provision for new drinking water schemes, installation of new electric transformers, construction of Sarai near Shiv Cave and Medical Sub-Centre etc.
Earlier, the Minister visited Shiv Cave at Salal Khad and offered prayer for peace and prosperity in the State.
Among others, District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Nirmal Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Mohan Lal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Rakesh Badyal, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Des Raj Menia, Assistant Director Fisheries, Bodh Raj, senior  officers of tourism and various departments, Sarpanhs, Panchs and locals of the area were present on the occasion.
