JAMMU, June 18: Patel Cricket Club (PCC) Jammu, Vishal CC Jammu, United CC Udhampur, Rising Star Cricket Club Billawar, Amjad CC Poonch and Bedi Cricket Club Poonch registered convincing wins over their rivals as the JKCA Premier Cricket Championship is in full swing in the districts of Jammu, Udhampur, Poonch and Kathua.
The Championship is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), under the supervision of retired Judge Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal and Sham Saroop Kalsotra.
At GGM Science College Hostel ground Jammu, Patel Cricket Club defeated KC Sports Club by 21 runs to enter the semis in Under-16 Cricket Tournament, while in another match at the same venue, Vishal Cricket Club thrashed Blue Star Cricket Club in an easy contest to seal berth in the finals.
In the first match, batting first Patel Cricket Club scored 170 runs in 25 overs. Varun top scored with 46 runs, while Atharav contributed 22 runs. Aryan and Prabjot contributed 18 runs each. Uttkarsh and Shivam took 2 wickets each for KC Sports Club.
In reply, KC Sports Club managed to score 149 runs in 21.4 overs, thus lost the match by 21 runs. Shivam and Uttkarsh contributed 31 and 30 runs respectively, while Lakshya chipped in with 19 runs. Hanzla took 4 important wickets, while Manjavir claimed 3 wickets.
In the semifinal match, Vishal Club scored a decent total of 182 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. Shivansh top scored with 49 runs, while Udhay Partap Singh contributed valuable 40 runs to the total. Rohan Gill and Prayas contributed 19 runs each to the total. Harjeet, Keshav and Aryan took 1 wicket each for Blue Star.
In reply, Blue Star Cricket Club bundled out for 108 runs. Harjeet top scored with 27 runs. For Vishal Club, Prayas and Snoop Bhagat took 2 wickets each, while Praful Dhar, Ashim Nanda and Sachin shared one wicket each. Madan Mohan is coach of Vishal Cricket Club.
At Sports Stadium Kathua, Rising Star Billawar defeated Kundan XI Kathua by a big margin of 130 runs. Batting first, Rising Star scored 233 runs in 29.1 overs. Akshit scored fabulous 133 runs off 82 balls, studded with 14 fours and 7 sixes, while Binny and Sahil contributed 18 and 17 runs respectively. Rakesh and Sunil took 4 wickets each for Kundan CC, while Dalbir claimed 2 wickets.
Kundan XI Kathua collapsed at 104 runs to lose the match by 130 runs. Sohan Lal scored 29 runs, while Raja chipped in with 14 runs. Sahil was the wrecker-in-chief who took 5 wickets, while Mohit and Sharn claimed 2 wickets each.
At Subash Stadium Udhampur, United Cricket Club defeated Habshi Cricket Club by 4 wickets. Habshi Club scored 143 runs in 27.3 overs, with Anmol, Abhimod and Ram contributing 27, 23 and 19 runs to the total respectively. Paramjeet Singh, Rakesh Singh and Anjum Salaria took 2 wickets each for UCC. In reply, UCC chased the target in 26.1 overs by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets. Sidhant top scored with 43 runs, while Paramjeet Singh Munish contributed 24 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Singh, Ram and Ankit took 2 wickets each for Habshi Cricket Club.
At Sports Stadium Poonch, Amjad Cricket Club defeated Aryan Cricket Club by 3 wickets. Aryan Club bundled out for 98 runs. Dheeraj and Gourav scored 32 and 26 runs respectively. Kumail and Touqir took 3 wickets, while Fani claimed 2 wickets for Amjad CC.
Amjad Club chased the target in 21.5 overs by losing 7 wickets. Billa, Sameer and Abhi contributed 23, 19 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Deepak took 4 wickets, while Arbaz claimed 2 wickets for Aryan Club.
In another match at Sports Stadium Poonch, Bedi Cricket Club defeated Guntrian Cricket Club by 4 wickets. Batting first, Guntrian CC scored 146 runs in 24.4 overs, Javid scored 42 runs, while Jahangir and Ajaz contributed 25 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Shimpu and Inderpal took 3 wickets each, while Dawan claimed 2 wickets for Bedi Cricket Club.
In reply, Bedi Cricket Club chased the target in 19.4 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Mintu top scored with 62 runs, while Sunny and Banu contributed 23 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Mushtaq took 2 wickets for Guntrian Cricket Club.
