Ghagwal police rescues 8 bovines, arrests 2

SAMBA, June 24:  Continuing its endeavor to thwart the evil designs of the bovine smugglers, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of  Anil Magotra, , SSP Samba foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued eight bovines.
A Police Party of PS Ghagwal headed by SI Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal under the close supervision of  Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during routine naka checking at NHW Tapyal, signaled a truck bearing Regd. No. JK02Q0/7711 which was coming from Kathua side. The driver on seeing the Police Party, accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot.
But after successful chase by the police, the truck was intercepted near NHW Nonath. During checking of the vehicle, eight bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. The accused driver namely Mohd. Naseer  S/o Abdul Slam and his associate  Puran Chand S/o Cheat Ram both R/o Batote, Ramban were  arrested on spot and all the bovine animals were rescued.
In this regard a case FIR No. 95/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 119/177/184 MV Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
