RAJOURI, June 26: On the `International Day Against Drug Abuse’, a Police Constable allegedly died of over dose of drugs in District Police Lines (DPL) area, in Rajouri last night.
He has been identified as Imtiaz Mughal, son of Sadiq Mughal, resident of Gurdan village near Rajouri. A police official said that his body was found lying in his room in DPL area in the morning. He has been deployed there in the DPL Rajouri.
Later, senior officials rushed to the site and intimated to his family and shifted the body to local hospital for postmortem. The police sources said that during last year Imtiaz along with other Constable Shahbaz had been arrested along with drugs and they were booked under FIR No. 78/ 2017. He is said to have died due to over dose of drugs.
SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas, however, claimed that as per doctor conducting postmortem, he has died of cardiac arrest. He was living in a rented accommodation in DPL area, Manhas said.
