India qualifies for Continental International Handball Challenge Trophy

JAMMU, Dec 20: Winning gold in IHF Handball Challenge Trophy, South and Central Asia Zone held at Kathmandu in Nepal recently, the Indian Under-21boys and Under-20 girls teams qualified for the Continental International Handball Challenge Trophy.
In the boys final, India drubbed Pakistan by a margin of 20 goals (40-20), with Shamsher Singh of Delhi and Neeraj of J&K being the main performers, while in girls section, India defeated Bangladesh by (44-16). Rimpi of Haryana was the star performer.
J&K’s two palyers namely Neeraj and Nitin Sharma were the members of Indian squad, while SAI Handball coach Dev Raj and Vivek Khajuria of J&K were the coaches of the girls team.
Secretary General, Handball Federation of India, SM Bali returned with the teams after attending the South Asian Handball Association Meeting.
