Monty of Rohtak wins Surgu Dangal title

SAMBA, June 30: The residents of village Nichla of Ghagwal Sub Division organised Surgu Dangal under the presidentship of Devi Ditta Sharma and patronage of Sagar Chand, Ex-panch.
Thousands of people and wrestlers from all over India participated, wherein a total of 76 bouts were held in this 300 years old dangal.
Monty of Rohtak won the title of Surgu Dangal by defeating Jaideep of Charkhi Dadri. Both were awarded with Rs 21,000 and a Gurj and mace by chief guest Colonel Ashutosh Mishra. Colonel also and donated an amount of Rs 10,000.
Earlier, the winner wrestler Monty fought and won two bouts to get place in final.
A bout of Rs 15000 was won by Kuldeep of Dewan Haryana by defeating Pawan of Ghati Kathua. Similarly, Sumit of Delhi defeated Sharieff of Barnoti Kathua in bout of Rs 11,000.
Murari Lal Sharma, former President of Committee, Sardari Lal, Kewal Kumar and Parshotam Lal played the role of referees.
In the end, General Secretary Sunny Prashar presented vote of thanks.
